A new study shows that shoppers bring smartphones into stores with them not only to check out competitors’ prices but also to get additional product information.
Slightly more than half of mobile shoppers (51 percent) have used a smartphone to look up a product review, according to a new study from the mobile marketing and technology company Vibes. Additionally, 45 percent say they’ve scanned a QR code for more information while 33 percent have researched a product on the store’s website and 28 percent have used a retailer’s in-store app.
It just goes to show that thorough, accurate digital product information is essential, even if most of your customers make their purchases at brick-and-mortar stores and not on the Internet.
