Walmart’s Focus on E-Commerce Is Paying Off

Walmart IconWalmart is pleased with the results of its decision to focus on increasing its e-commerce operations, according to the company’s e-commerce operations CEO.

“The investments we’ve made so far in our e-commerce business are delivering,” Neil Ashe, who heads the retailer’s e-commerce operations, said during a conference call to discuss annual earnings. “Revenue growth is accelerating and ahead of our plans.”

The company has updated its product search engine to return more relevant results and is also optimizing pricing, Ashe was reported saying on Internet Retailer. The company is also working to expand its m-commerce offerings. Walmart has not disclosed its 2012 Internet sales, but previously said it expected online revenue to reach $9 billion by the end of 2014.
