Why? Because e-commerce is growing rapidly in Europe and Asia, two regions with a huge amount of linguistic diversity. Studies show that even when shoppers know English, they still prefer to get product information in their native language. Consider these statistics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>80 percent of Internet usage takes place outside of North America (<a title=\"Internet Retailer Trends &amp; Data\" href=\"http:\/\/www.internetretailer.com\/trends\/internet\/\" target=\"_blank\">Internet Retailer<\/a>, 2012)<\/li>\n<li>Europe is currently the largest B2C e-commerce market in the world with $307 billion in sales in 2011 (<a title=\"Global e-commerce sales will top $1.25 trillion by 2013\" href=\"http:\/\/www.internetretailer.com\/2012\/06\/14\/global-e-commerce-sales-will-top-125-trillion-2013\" target=\"_blank\">Internet Retailer<\/a>, 2012)<\/li>\n<li>52 percent of online consumers only shop at websites in their native language (<a title=\"Can't read won't buy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.commonsenseadvisory.com\/AbstractView.aspx?ArticleID=957\" target=\"_blank\">Common Sense Advisory<\/a>, 2006)<\/li>\n<li>72 percent of online consumers are more likely to purchase products if the product information is in their native language.
