Meanwhile, <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> <a title=\"Pinterest rolls out price alerts\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/pinterest-price-alerts-sales-nj\" target=\"_blank\">debuted a new price alert feature<\/a> (on the same day, no less)\u00a0to encourage users to buy more of the items they&#8217;ve pinned.<\/p>\n<p>As <strong>TechCrunch<\/strong> says, Amazon&#8217;s decision to overtly mimic a competing service &#8220;to some extent\u00a0validates the traction Pinterest is seeing with e-commerce referrals.&#8221; But will the feature take hold, or will it become just one more failed experiment in social commerce functionality?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon recently launched Amazon Collections, a Pinterest-style feature consumers can use to save, share, and discover products.
