But over the past year, that advantage went away, as Amazon gave select third-party sellers the ability to enhance their product pages.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s an overview of the new seller content that has appeared on Amazon during 2015.<\/p>\n<h2>Amazon Launchpad: Image-Rich Content<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-26579 size-medium alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazon-Launchpad-Final-300x75.png\" alt=\"Amazon-Launchpad-Seller-Content\" width=\"300\" height=\"75\" srcset=\"https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazon-Launchpad-Final-300x75.png 300w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazon-Launchpad-Final-175x44.png 175w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazon-Launchpad-Final-120x30.png 120w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazon-Launchpad-Final.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-26584\" src=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Image.png\" alt=\"Keeping-Up-Amazon-2\" width=\"202\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Image.png 356w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Image-88x175.png 88w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Image-151x300.png 151w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/Image-61x120.png 61w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 202px) 100vw, 202px\" \/><br \/>\nBranded seller product pages can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/b?node=12034488011\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon Launchpad<\/a>, a service which showcases products backed by crowdfunding or venture capital. Launchpad started in July in the US and <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2015\/11\/16\/amazon-expands-launchpad-its-product-hunt-meets-shopify-shyp-rival-to-the-uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">expanded to the UK in November<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Launchpad content modules look nothing like those <a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/blog\/hello-modules-amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\">available to Amazon vendors<\/a>. The typical layout is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Module 1: About the product<\/li>\n<li>Module 2: Brand video or brand banner<\/li>\n<li>Module 3: Text with left-aligned image<\/li>\n<li>Module 4: Text with right-aligned image<\/li>\n<li>Module 5: 3 columns with images \u201cinspiration text\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Module 6: Banner image<\/li>\n<li>Module 7: About the startup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Amazon provides Launchpad sellers with a template for creating content. They fill it out, send it to Amazon, and an Amazon team builds the pages.<\/p>\n<h2>Amazon Vendor Express: Vendor \u201cLite\u201d Content<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-26585 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonVendorExpress-300x90.png\" alt=\"AmazonVendorExpress\" width=\"300\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonVendorExpress-300x90.png 300w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonVendorExpress-175x53.png 175w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonVendorExpress-120x36.png 120w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonVendorExpress.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In March of 2015, Amazon <a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/blog\/amazon-vendor-express-where-is-the-content\/\" target=\"_blank\">launched Vendor Express<\/a>. The service makes it easier for boutique upstarts to have their products show up marked as \u201cships from and sold by Amazon.com.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vendor Express product pages look the same as those available to Amazon vendors, with a couple of key differences. First, several of the more advanced modules are not available. Secondly, there\u2019s no self-service option. Vendor Express sellers submit content using a Microsoft Word template and a team at Amazon builds it.<\/p>\n<h2>Amazon Exclusives: The Wild West of Content<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26588 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonExclusives.png\" alt=\"AmazonExclusives\" width=\"300\" height=\"51\" srcset=\"https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonExclusives.png 300w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonExclusives-175x30.png 175w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/AmazonExclusives-120x20.png 120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/b?ie=UTF8&amp;node=11024013011\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon Exclusives<\/a> launched in March of 2015 as a way to give shoppers access to \u201cup and coming products\u201d that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2015\/03\/11\/amazon-exclusives-crowdfunding-store\/\" target=\"_blank\">they won&#8217;t find anywhere else<\/a>. Product pages on Amazon Exclusives frequently feature full-width banners and text with side-by-side images.<\/p>\n<p>Here are three Amazon Exclusives page examples:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/product-pages2.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26624\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26624\" src=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/product-pages2.png\" alt=\"product-pages\" width=\"600\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/product-pages2.png 600w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/product-pages2-175x72.png 175w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/product-pages2-300x124.png 300w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/product-pages2-120x50.png 120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Amazon Vendors\u00a0Still Winning Content War<\/h2>\n<p>So does this new Seller Central content mean\u00a0Amazon has given smaller brands the content tools to compete with big brands? <a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/blog\/adding-strategic-content-to-product-pages\/\" target=\"_blank\">We don&#8217;t think so<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sellers still can&#8217;t create strategic content because they don&#8217;t have access to Amazon Vendor Central. Assuming they have a well-thought-out content strategy,\u00a0big brands can use Amazon Vendor Central\u00a0content creation tools\u00a0to create content that can be\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/blog\/introducing-content-innovation-cycle\/\" target=\"_blank\">strategically\u00a0refreshed and optimized for search<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t work with Amazon Sellers, but I&#8217;ve heard from other folks that the Amazon-Builds-It process is cumbersome and expensive. Our advice to Amazon Vendors is to keep ahead of the competition in the new year by creating strategic content.
