It\u2019s now located just a few swipes down from the top of the page.<\/p>\n<p>For example, this is a mobile shopper\u2019s first look at the features and benefits of Belkin\u2019s USB Car Charger on Amazon:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-31762\" src=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/bellkin-content-example-577x1024.png\" alt=\"mobile A+ content\" width=\"500\" height=\"887\" srcset=\"https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/bellkin-content-example-577x1024.png 577w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/bellkin-content-example-99x175.png 99w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/bellkin-content-example-169x300.png 169w, https:\/\/987654321.space\/c26_dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/bellkin-content-example.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This content rearrangement has been rolled out to all product categories on Amazon. This is a significant change from the 2016 mobile layout. It also departs from Amazon\u2019s current desktop layout, where essential content is given prime real estate at the top of the page, and A+ content is relegated to a lower position.<\/p>\n<h2>Mobile A+ Content Builds Trust and Increases Sales<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ve called essential content the <a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/blog\/essential-vs-enhanced-ecommerce-product-content\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">meat and potatoes<\/a> of the product page because essential content (product titles, bullets, etc.) are foundational pieces that are absolutely necessary for a trustworthy product page. However, this update means that Amazon has decided to serve mobile shoppers enhanced A+ content as the main course.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps this isn\u2019t so surprising. Amazon has touted a 3 \u2013 10% sales lift that results from including enhanced A+ content. At the same time, an estimated 50% of online shoppers in the US are using Amazon\u2019s mobile app, so it might be that Amazon has identified a need among mobile shoppers for a more detailed, visual product story.<\/p>\n<p>Many brands are focused on Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) and search-optimized essential content to win over new customers. Amazon has surpassed Google as the most trafficked product marketing platform, and over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2016\/9\/27\/13078526\/amazon-online-shopping-product-search-engine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">55% of customers are now starting their product searches on Amazon<\/a>. Yet, <a href=\"http:\/\/content26.com\/blog\/amazon-indexing-does-amazon-still-value-great-content\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">as we\u2019ve pointed out before<\/a>, enhanced A+ content remains an indispensable tool for converting product page visitors to customers.<\/p>\n<h2>Algorithm Changes on Amazon are Common<\/h2>\n<p>Amazon regularly changes its algorithms and systems so moving A+ content to a more prominent position for mobile shopping isn\u2019t a great surprise. But by shifting A+ content into the mobile \u201cspotlight,\u201d Amazon is highlighting its vital role in the consumer journey.<\/p>\n<p>Content26 CEO Tony Martinelli weighs in:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis yet again reinforces the need for a complete detail page, top to bottom.
